Hammerhead Diving Experience:
Right on Auckland’s doorstep lies the Hauraki Gulf, known throughout the world as a boating paradise. For many divers, this area has a certain mystique. Many have heard of it, but few seem to know where it is or have actually dived it. Known for its Hammerhead experience, huge crayfish, and huge kingfish, these dive sites are not to be missed. Research over recent years has found areas frequented by the migrating in this stunning location.
The trip is open to all levels of divers and guides are provided. Along with the dives there is an added SSI shark ecology certification; the online section associated with this certification will need to be completed prior to the charter in order for the certification to be validated. By taking the shark ecology program you will learn how sharks and their behaviour are often misunderstood, and how you can safely observe them in their natural habitat. The history of sharks began approximately 400 million years ago, and continues through present day; learn about what has made these incredible fish so successful to adapting to life on earth and then come to experience the beauty out on the water.
