About Your Wellington Harbour Four-Hour Fishing Trip:
The four-hour harbour fishing trip is an excellent option if you have a group of friends or colleagues who wish to fish together at the same time while keeping costs down. Out in the harbour, you'll find a surprisingly wide range of species and it's not uncommon to catch as many as eight or ten different species of fish on a trip. Typically the Seafarer II steams south of Makaro/Ward Island where the crew will drop anchor and set plenty of burley to bring the fish right to you. Due to the boat being anchored, they can fit 20 people with ease, spread out around the boat.
Fish usually seen on these trips includes; gurnard, kahawai, elephant fish, snapper, trevally, tarakihi, blue cod, red cod, warehou, rig, kingfish, sea perch, jack mackeral, skate and the occasional octopus.
Please note: shared charter trips run from 10am - 2pm, while the full boat hire charters can be scheduled for a time of your choosing.

Wellington Harbour offers a wide range of fishing options, from excellent deep water fishing for groper, bass, bluenose, shark and ling. Great inshore fishing around the extensive southern coastline for bluecod, tarahiki, trevally, kingfish, trumpeter, sea perch and other species. Wellington harbour also offers a wide variety of species in very sheltered waters - harbour trips are great for families, school groups or those keen to try an easily accessible fishing experience. Catering can be arranged for group bookings if required, or you are welcome to use our cooking equipment onboard. We have a quality BBQ onboard, fridge, hot water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Breakfast items for self service and a small BBQ lunch is provided on all sharecost trips.
About the Skipper:
Owner and Skipper Jonathan 'Jono' Delich has fished in Wellington for the past 30 years and has a vast knowledge of the local area and fishing spots. Jono has worked on a number of commercial boats in Wellington and has worked in the Wellington charter fishing industry full-time for the last three years. Jono and his team will ensure a professional, safe, fun and enjoyable experience onboard.
About the Boat:
The Seafarer II is a 50ft, (15m) commercial charter and fishing vessel operating in Wellington. The Seafarer II has a fully enclosed cabin as well as outside coverings to ensure passenger comfort and safety. Surveyed for up to 20 passengers Seafarer II is able to cater to larger groups with ample space to move around the vessel.
