Trisha, its the Plasterers job to leave a Paintable Surface for the next Trade. Sanding is included in the service. In this weather it may require a return trip to do this once dry.

Donna-marie, I normally allow a day to skim a room, although doing them in bulk saves time and then one more visit at least 24 hours later (weather permitting dry time)
Other factors also vary drying times times. Id estimate 2.5 days for your two rooms as a ball park estimate from experience. I will often skim a bedroom and apply the full Value of the Voucher as it suits.
I should say, Sometimes pigment sealing is required where the glue residue is left behind before I plaster Some times a quick wipe with Sugar Soap is required, sometimes you can just go straight over.

Wall paper can be a pain depending on the age and amount of layers.

michelle cordes commented over 10 years ago. Hi, I have a kit-set house that has plastic strips connecting each wall panel that need removing, then filled/plastered prior to painting - would this voucher cover that? I have two small bedrooms that I can keen to have done. thanks

Marc from Marc One Plastering commented over 10 years ago. Hi Michelle, in my experience those "Panels" have been Pinex or Particle Board and are not able to be plastered by a Professional, and would advise against use as a part of this deal.

Would 4 hours be long enough to do this in a standard sized lounge?
