Tracy Allison commented over 6 years ago. As a beginner with a few body issues, would one day a week of mat classes be enough. I am keen to do palates classes but work Monday to Wednesday so that would be my only option. What is recommended please.
Emma from GrabOne commented over 6 years ago. Hey Tracy,

Thanks for your interest in this one.

The Body in Motion Team will be online to offer some advice on this :)
Tahlia from Body In Motion commented over 6 years ago. Hi Tracey,
One hour a week is better than nothing and you will learn plenty of fundamental changes to make throughout your daily life (posturaly) to help with realignment and correct muscle engagement. During you initial 1:1 our instructors will help you determine the best class options and given your work commitment, and could also give you some at home exercises to do as well. We have mat classes outside your work days you can join most nights of the week :-) Perhaps if you did want to increase to x2 weekly, a Monday eve Mat + Friday morning Mat could be an option?
christine maclachlan commented over 6 years ago. What is the difference between the mat and reformer class?
Emma from GrabOne commented over 6 years ago. Hey Christine!
Thanks for your interest in this one.

The Body In Motion Team will be online as soon as they can to help you :)
Tahlia from Body In Motion commented over 6 years ago. Hi Christine,

Here is the difference:

MATWORK
Experience a full hour and benefits of a Matwork class. Come and experience the integrated use of small props and equipment to either facilitate good movement patterns throughout the body, or add intensity to a particular exercise. Matwork is fantastic to mobilise the spine, increase core strength and joint stability, while building that ultimate mind-to-body neuromuscular connection. *Clients must be able to lay supine on a mat

REFORMER
A class set entirely on the most commonly used Pilates machine, the Reformer. The focus remains on developing integrity through all movements, with continual feedback to the body from pre tensioned, weighted springs. The springs can be adjusted to help target the deepest, most intrinsic local stabilising muscles closest to our joints, or the larger global mobilisers that give us our power off the start line. If body awareness is poor, the Reformer is also a great facilitator to build body-to-mind awareness, due to the proprioceptive feedback being given back to the brain. *It is recommended to wear socks in this class

If you would like further clarification and help to decide which class option will suit you best, feel free to call one of our instructors for a phone consultation :-)

Thanks!
