There is no lunch option for children under 5 im sorry to say. So please bring lunch for your little one on the day. Alternatively, there is Cafe Sandspit by the wharf that can sort some takeaway lunch for your wee one, there is also the Mansion House Cafe that will be open when you visit Mansion House Bay, but i recommend taking some snacks because you will be on the boat for some time before reaching Mansion House Bay. With the Royal Mail cruise, does it go straight to Mansion House Bay and can we get off there to explore then catch the mail cruise at 4.30 on a Saturday and go around the bays there? Also how long would the actual cruise bit be (ie return trip from Mansion house to Sandspit again?) Thanks

This cruise combines a 3hour island cruise with optional onboard BBQ lunch. You will be on board for 2-2.5hrs touring the island from the northern end (vivian bay) down to the historical Bon Accord Harbour then down the southern end (south cove) dropping mail and freight to the residents of the island while cruising past historical places like 'smelting house and the Copper Mine Ruins' before heading back to Mansion House Bay where you can enjoy a 1.5hr or 4hr island stopover visiting Mansion House Museum, explore George Greys 'Garden of Eden', search for wallabies, wekas and peacocks. There are more than 5 excellent DOC bush walks from 15mins to 1.5hrs. Learn the history and legends of this unique area. Swim, fish off the rocks, snorkel. You have the option of two departure times. 2pm or 4.30pm and it is a half hour trip back to Sandspit Wharf.

Maree from Kawau Cruises commented over 6 years ago. There are still seats available for Boxing Day. In order to secure a seat on this trip you would have to book as soon as possible.
We can cater for a vegetarian option, but we are terribly sorry that we can not guarantee egg free or no fish as all meals are cooked on the same BBQ and there might be contamination.
We are on the current summer timetable with the ferry leaving Mansion House on Kawau Island every day at 2pm and 4.30pm.

Maree from Kawau Cruises commented over 6 years ago. The BBQ lunch consists either of a Sirloin Steak or a Salmon Fillet. It is served with a ciabatta bun and a fresh garden salad and also includes a beverage of your choice. Lunch is prepared and served on the boat. Upon booking you can make your choice.
