Murray Neilson commented over 6 years ago. Do you do transmission reverse flush prior to fluid change, and what is cost for Holden VZ Adventra 5speed auto service (no dipstick) with no filter mesh replacement, service using Dexron IV please. Cheers

We would encourage you to use Dexron VI (6) in your transmission. BMW vehicles of the same era also used this GM transmission and from all credible information available to me at this time, DX6 is recommended.

DX6 is backward compatible all the way back to the first version of DX3, and as far as my knowledge goes, Dexron IV (4) development was abandoned and DX3G and DX3H was developed instead.

As far as reverse flushing goes, this is an operation we do not perform because of the risks involved. Some vehicles have thermostats built into the transmission, some have electric fluid pumps, some have one way valves, and some have transmission filters with one way vales built into them. So we do not perform reverse flushes as the procedure could damage certain types of transmissions.

The primary purpose of a transmission flush, as explained in the advertisement, is to remove all old fluid, including fluid trapped in the valve bodies and torque converter. Our Wynns machine achieves this. But because we perform transmission flushes on hundreds of different transmissions, we would not risk reverse flushing any transmission.

Dexron 6 (DX VI) is the latest and best ATF available, but its not cheap. We can perform your flush using DX6 fluid however the job will attract $100.00 surcharge.

Glenn, no unfortunately any cleaning solvents or transmission treatments we use are an additional cost. Some vehicles need them, others do not. So it's not something that is included in the cost.

What will the surcharge be for a 2008 540i? I am aware that the filter/pan housing is one component and will require replacement.

Candice Venter commented over 6 years ago. Hi there. I have a 2012 Mondeo Titanium with a powershift gearbox, that I believe needs special tranmission fluid. Is this something you could do and how much would it be? What is the additional cost of the cleaning solvent? Any idea on the cost of the transmission filter for this vehicle also? I would like to do a thorough service.
