Rochelle Buist commented over 8 years ago. I am keen on this for my three children who are 12, 13, 15. Does the 8-12 age bracket needing an adult swimmer include the 12yo, or is that up to 12 yo?

Akaroa from Black Cat Cruises commented over 8 years ago. Hi Rochelle, thank you for your question. The age is 8-12 inclusive. This means that any swimmer age 12 will also need to be accompanied by an adult swimmer of 18 years or over. Thank you

Hi Joanne, the swimming vouchers on Grab One are valid from September 1st, 2015 (when the new swim season starts again) until November 30th, 2015. Times vary each month as we put on extra times the closer we get to summer. They vary from 8.30am, 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm. Please call in advance to check times and book on before you use the voucher :)

If you are coming to Akaroa from afar then we advise checking the weather before hand and/or leaving your next morning free to come out if you don't get to swim on your first day in Akaroa. Please let the team know your situation when you book so they can have you on standby for the next day should seats be free :)

Akaroa from Black Cat Cruises commented over 8 years ago. Hi Anna, yes that is fine as long as your children are at least 8 years old. You will be out on the water for 2 hours cruising through Akaroa Harbour looking for the Hector's dolphins, you may even see fur seals and penguins along the way, and of that time you will be spend up to 40 minutes in the water with the dolphins. We provide hot chocolates on the way back and hot showers will be waiting for you at the wharf :)

The merchant has advised that the water temperature is around 10 degrees at present, but they have full thick wetsuits with hoods, boots and gloves, as well as hot drinks available on board and hot showers available when you get back to land! :)
Kirstie Croft commented over 8 years ago. Can you confirm that I would be OK to bring 3 children by myself, kids age 13, 12 and 8. Also can I put the 8 year old in a life jacket if I provide it? Also I am assuming this is valid for October school holidays. Thanks ☺
