About Child Cancer Foundation:
Every week more than three children are diagnosed with cancer in New Zealand. The Child Cancer Foundation is there for each child, and their family, from that terrible time of diagnosis, throughout treatment and beyond.
The Foundation aims to reduce the impact of cancer by offering services that ensure children and their families are supported, informed and remain connected at every stage of their journey.
At any given time the Foundation’s team is assisting more than 500 families’ nationwide - offering support in hospital, at home and in the community.
Through its work, the Foundation aims to build resilience in families by offering emotional, financial and practical support to help reduce the impact of cancer, strengthen the family unit and assist with achieving the best possible outcome for the child with cancer.
As no two families’ cancer experiences are the same, the Foundation’s Family Support team offer each family targeted assistance as well as a shoulder to lean on when times are tough.
As a stand-alone charity, the Child Cancer Foundation receives no direct funding from the government, so it relies on the generosity of New Zealanders to help it deliver vital assistance to families when they need it most.
