90 miles? That's a really long walk! Well, it's actually 55 miles or 88 kilometres long which, while a little misleading, is still pretty massive. The story goes that missionaries worked out that it took, on average, 30 miles to travel on horseback a day. The missionaries took three days to travel down this beach, however what they forgot to take into account was the horses travelling slower on the soft sand. But 55 mile beach just doesn't have the same ring to it anyway.
