Cherie Radt commented over 7 years ago. Hi if I do this at Dunedin gym can I use the childcare there too while I'm at the classes?? Cheers
The Team commented over 7 years ago. Hi @cherie - there would be a $10 fee for the childcare, and subject to available spaces as this is only free to members. Thanks for your query.
Anjali Gupta commented over 7 years ago. I have a query regarding one of the Conditions - "Available to NZ residents only". Does this have something to do with my visa status here ? I have been staying in NZ for the last two years, and wish to know if I am eligible for this deal.

Anjali
The Team commented over 7 years ago. Hi @angali - this deal is open to NZ residents only. Thank you for your query.
Abbie Davies commented over 7 years ago. Haya are we able to attend more than one class in the visit or is that counted as a second class
Emma from GrabOne commented over 7 years ago. Hey Abbie :)
The Les Mills Team will be online later this morning to help you with this.
Have a great day!
Leanne Hershberger commented over 7 years ago. Hi there,
What about Whangarei? Would be great if we could access this at the northern end of the country too. :)
The Team commented over 7 years ago. Hi @abbie - thanks for your query. Yes you can do more than 1 class in the visit, or hit the gym floor as well. Thanks
The Team commented over 7 years ago. Hi @Leanne - yeah would be great if we had a club in Whangarei, thanks for your feedback :)
Anjali Gupta commented over 7 years ago. Hello Team Les Mills !
Thank you for your response that did not exactly clarify anything for me.

If Les Mills team has introduced this deal biased towards NZ residents, and you do not want to extend this to immigrants, I am not sure if Les Mills is a gym that should be used by any immigrants at all. This deal seems like Les Mills is encouraging discrimination based on a person's nationality.
I will contact the international offices of the universities to make sure that international students are made aware of the policies of Les Mills.
Thanks.
The Team commented over 7 years ago. Hi @Anjali thanks for your follow up query. Just to confirm, we haven't introduced this condition for this trial, it's been our policy for a very long time. Thank you.
Anjali Gupta commented over 7 years ago. That is really informative. I was not aware a gym like Les Mills wants no immigrants to access their facilities. I will make sure I do my best to inform as many immigrants as I can, so that they move to other fitness gyms like BodyTech.
Good luck attracting no immigrants!
The Team commented over 7 years ago. Hi @Anjali - very sorry this has offended you, this is not our intention. “residents only” applies to anyone living in NZ. So international students studying at NZ universities are eligible as they are current ‘residing’ in NZ. I think you might be confusing NZ resident with NZ Citizen. Please feel free to call us if you wish to discuss further. Thanks
Anjali Gupta commented over 7 years ago. I'm sorry, maybe I misread your previous reply -

"Hi @Anjali thanks for your follow up query. Just to confirm, we haven't introduced this condition for this trial, it's been our policy for a very long time. Thank you."

I think I made myself very clear in all my comments previously what my doubt was, and what I wanted to confirm. You might want to read the whole conversation, starting from my first comment on this discussion board.
The last reply of Les Mills has made it explicit that either Team Les Mills is trying to cover up now, or the team did not bother to ponder over an immigrant's comment before. I do not intend to associate myself with such entities.
Jim Kleine commented over 7 years ago. @LesMills, @Anjali I am posting this comment because I have been following this thread since my earlier post and I *think* I can see both sides of this exchange. As someone who has had regular contact with the Immigration Dept in respect of employees' visa and residency applications, I can certainly understand @Anjali's comments and concerns.

To clarify: Being a "NZ Resident" is a formal immigration status and does not just relate to "residing" in NZ (which you can legally do via e.g. a visa). @Anjali's first comment demonstrates that she understood this distinction and I agree that @LesMills' next replies didn't seem to engage with the question that she had asked. If @LesMills's policy hasn't anticipated that, it may be useful to clarify the policy going forward.

As a policy position unrelated to this trial but relating to someone "residing" in NZ vs a longer-term traveller, which seems to be the only remaining distinction, I still don't really understand the intent. @LesMills group fitness classes are delivered worldwide. If I was a business traveller that belonged to an overseas gym that offered those classes, I might want to continue with them while in NZ. Is there some kind of licensing issue with the group fitness classes?
The Team commented over 7 years ago. Hi @Anjali reading back through the conversation, our apologies for what were very poorly worded first two responses to your question. We did not address your question directly regarding whether you were eligible, and yes absolutely you are, as are all immigrants living in NZ. We do not and would never discriminate against anyone based on their nationality. Again we sincerely apologise for the confusion and any offence we may have caused.
Anjali Gupta commented over 7 years ago. In this instance, I accept Les Mills apology, and hope that the queries by people in future are answered in an appropriate manner. In future, it might be worth for @Les Mills to clarify their policies relating to "NZ Resident" that have caused the mayhem here, as pointed out by @Jim.
Xavier De commented over 7 years ago. Hi does the name on this coupon have to match the person claiming at les mills? A Family member wants to use the coupon bought from here (He has no account), but will have my name on it?
The Team commented over 7 years ago. Hello @xavier - yes that is no problem. You are entitled to gift up to 5 coupons to other people. Perhaps when your family member comes in to the club they could just explain it is a gift so the name is different on the coupon. Thank you
Siobhan Boyle commented over 7 years ago. Hi, I came to Les Mills a few times recently as part of a corporate challenge, where our company had a deal with Les Mills for employee membership for 3 weeks. Does this count as a trial ? I couldn't access it much during that time as was away so would like to try this trial and more classes before deciding to join.
