Getting to a certain age and discovering that unicorns don't frolic freely over luscious green meadows can be heartbreaking. Thankfully, here at GrabOne we know that while there's unlikely to be a leprechaun waiting at the end of the rainbow, the world is still full of mystical and magical places to visit.
One of these places is undoubtedly the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, and today's your chance to experience the wonder of this place at an awesome price. Grab one adult admission for just $24 or grab one child admission for only $10.
This is your chance to escape the big smoke for the weekend and head down country to the jewel of the Waikato, the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Formed over 30 million years ago these amazing naturally formed caves are a serious sight for sore eyes. You'll descend into the awe-inspiring Cathedral - a cavern 18 metres high with wonderful natural acoustics. Your experienced and knowledgeable guide will give you a detailed commentary on the history of these wonderful caves, both geological and cultural. Once you've passed through the cathedral you'll board a boat that will glide silently over the dark waters into the Glowworm Grotto. You'll stare in wonder at the thousands of sparkling glowworms that spread across the ceiling like a blanket of stars. This is a peaceful and magical experience that'll truly restore your belief in the mysteriousness of the world we live in.
Please note: Waitomo Glowworm Caves tours depart daily every half hour between 9am and 5pm. The tour is accessible to those with reasonable mobility - there are handrails and clear paths. Don't forget to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a warm jacket as it can get chilly down there.
